Jayden's Dev Log Robot Riot


Day 1: We first designed the pitch which was four players trying to push each other off of the circular platform and try to be the last player standing.

Day 2: Today I had researched what the players would look like and helped the art style, which is a low poly artstyle with bright vibrant colours with solid colour textures. Afterwards I had started to design the players.

Day 3: At first I designed them to hover to remove time spending it on animations and instead put it into other things, but we ended up coming to the conclusion that the robots will use a single sphere as a ball to roll around which can be done within Unity with a script to roll. Once that was decided I then looked deeper into the design and decided that the bot will be big and have 4 massive shields to protect the bot from damage.

Day 4: I wasn't at uni this day.

Day 5: I wasn't at uni this day.

Day 6: I wasn't at uni this day.

Day 7: I wasn't at uni this day.

Day 8: I wasn't at uni this day.

Day 9: I did design my robot while I was at home during my absence and began to 3D model the bots.

Day 10: I had finished the wheel and started the body.

Day 11: The body was finished and I began to make the shields and then UV'd.

Day 12: I began to texture the model and decided to have 4 different colour options for the players to choose from.

Day 13: Texturing.

Day 14: I had finished all four colours Purple, Brown, Blue and Green.

Day 15: I then put those textures and models into Unity for Faye to use.
